Western Adventure #13 Wall Drug & Black Hills

Day 13 -8/15/2024

Today, we catch back up with our group in Hermosa SD. After my usual morning walk, we took the Jeep to Wall to go to Wall Drugs. It was not as crowded as it would be later that day. We enjoyed looking in the many shops. We got doughnuts at the cafĂȘ and enjoyed free ice water and 5 cent coffee. We watched the T-Rex feed and got a video of that, and we looked at some of the historical photos on the walls. After that, we went back to the camper and hooked up and loaded up. We’re ready to go to Hermosa.

The T-Rex feeds every 12 minutes. I had just missed it, so I had to wait around a while.

We stopped in Rapid City at Walmart for supplies and ate lunch as well. We were the last of our group to check in at Heartland RV Park, a parking lot, of course. Although, for a parking lot, it’s not terrible. The staff is really friendly and very accommodating. As per all private RV parks, though, there is a list of rules a mile long.

The rest of the group went to Walmart, but we had already been. So we stayed at the camp site and walked around looking at all the campers. Here we are, all lined up: Roth, Buskirk, Pachel, and Craft.

Tomorrow begins our exploration of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Some places we have been before, but we're looking forward to seeing them again. Who knows? We might even get to see something we've never seen before. Stay tuned...
