Day 2 -8/4/2024
After a walk around the RV park and a good breakfast, we headed to Hot Springs, a three-hour journey. We saw some interesting things along the way--a wreck and a cyber truck.
We walked around our campground and got to know where all the neat things are. There is a trail we plan to explore tomorrow morning that leaves from our campground. We walked on it for a little way. To get to the trail, we had to cross a creek, but fortunately, the park gave us some steps to get across easily. There is also a swimming hole that the children are enjoying. Maybe we can sit in the water as well. The creek is not running very enthusiastically right now because there has been very little rain. It is very dry here. Next to all this is an amphitheater where the ranger is supposed to give a talk. But unfortunately, we didn't have any ranger talks while we were there.
We met our back-door neighbors after dinner. They are from Gonzales, LA. They are a young family with two children and one on the way. Very nice to chat with. They know some people we know, Kyle and Fancy Manton. It was fun to talk with them about our mutual friends--all nice things, of course. 😉 We talked with them about the time the Manton's neighborhood flooded and how Vince, along with some other friends, Chip and Lisa Williams and Glenn and Delana Varner, drove over for the day to help them clean out their house after the water receded.
We have found out that Linda has the c-illness. She went to a clinic and got a test done. David isn’t feeling well, either. He probably has it too. They are sticking pretty close to their camper, afraid to give any of the rest of us that nonsense. 😔
