Western Adventure #17: Jewel Cave and Mount Rushmore

Day 17-8/19/2024

Today, we went with the Crafts to Jewel Cave in the morning.

The weather was not that great--kind of cool and misty. We didn’t know if we could convince Linda to go in the cave or not. But she did. They did the Discovery Tour which is only a half hour long. It started at 12:35. Vince and I took the Scenic Tour. It started at 12:00. So we ate our picnic lunch, and got ready for the tour. It was a good tour, but my feet got tired of all those stairs. Here are some pictures inside the cave.

When we got back to the camper, we got ready to go again; this time to Mount Rushmore because the weather cleared up so nicely. We enjoyed our walk around the monument on the Presidents Trail, taking lots of pictures along the way. Even though we’ve done it before, it never gets old.

We were talking of going back for the evening show tonight, but everyone was wiped out and tired. So we just chilled and got a good nights sleep.
