Day 48–9/19/2024
It’s our last full day in Grand Teton National Park. We decided to meet up with our group at Dornan’s instead. And it's a good thing, too, because the traffic to get in the gate at that time was backed up to the entrance to Dornan's! 😳 The plan was to go counterclockwise around this loop. The Tetons were still obscured, so we didn’t know how the day would go.
Our first stop was Mormon Row. Since we had already seen the Moulton barn, and because it was cold outside, we decided to hang out in the village and take pictures. However, we couldn’t get back in the car. So we huddled with the Crafts who couldn’t get in their car either. 🥶
The pullouts along the way were useless to try because the mountains were still in the clouds. We did some scenic drives, and took some pictures along the way.
One of our stops was Jackson Lake Lodge. Ordinarily, one can see the Tetons through the huge plate glass windows in the lobby, but alas. They were obscured by clouds. In the gift shop, we saw another high-dollar t-shirt. I've included a picture. Would you pay $70 for this shirt?
We made it around most of the loop before The Crafts and the Roths got fed up with the weather and decided to go on to Jackson instead to shop. We continued on with the Buskirks. We went back to some of the pullouts after making it all the way around the loop. The clouds were starting to lift, but they were being quite stubborn.
After our drive, we headed to Dornan’s for an early dinner. The rest didn’t want pizza. That's okay. We enjoyed hanging out with the Buskirks. They enjoyed their pizza, and we enjoyed our stromboli.
On the way home we did our usual elk hunt and badger hunt. Then we went back to the RV and got ready for the trip tomorrow. It’s going to be a long drive to Saratoga.
