Day 49–9/20/2024
It was Mom’s birthday! We were on our way to Saratoga WY today in the Medicine Bow area. The weather was nice today for our travels. As we left the Gros Ventre Campground, a campground famous for the moose that wander through at all hours of the day and which we did not see any while staying here, two moose bid us a fond farewell as we left. (I'll insert pictures here later if they are any good.) We are all traveling on the same road, but we are ahead because we left before the rest of the group. Btw, the Tetons are gorgeous today.
A glimpse of the Teton Range as we left Grand Teton National Park
We enjoyed our drive east from Jackson. It was a lovely mountain drive. Then we got to the flatter and rockier terrain all of a sudden. They have built these special bridges for animals who migrate. You see, our highways and interstates have interfered with their traditional migration paths. So in order to keep the animals from being hit by cars and trucks, they have built these special animal overpasses. Here's one example.
We got to the campground and got settled. The Crafts pulled into the wrong site and were almost settled when they realized they were in the wrong spot. It just goes to show you how tired we all are. Plus the way they have the sites numbered is a little confusing. They changed spots with no problem.
This was a nice site at Deer Haven RV Park. Our site backed right up to the North Platte River. Everyone was tired from the long drive, so we had dinner, and then we were ready to sleep.
